Work on an as needed basis when the regular school nurse is absent. The role includes providing student health services while the regular nurse is absent.
Qualifications Education, License, Certification, or Formal Training- Current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in Wyoming
- Registered Nurse with a two‑year (Associate’s) or four‑year (Bachelor’s) degree from an accredited college or university
- Some coursework and/or experience in education preferred
- Ability to work with various personality types
- Sound emotional judgment
- Visual acuity, aided or non‑aided, to read and interpret accurately written reports of a technical nature
- Ability to enunciate clearly and communicate positively throughout the work day
- Ability to follow and successfully complete both written and oral directions
- Ability to calculate accurately
- Knowledge of basic computer commands to run software related to word processing and administrative/instructional applications on a personal computer
- Visual acuity and stamina to work at a computer monitor for at least a reasonable part of the day
- Sufficient strength to lift boxes or equipment that may weigh as much as fifty (50) pounds and be able to move them as far as fifty feet (50’)
- Sufficient strength and stamina to remain seated for periods as long as two (2) hours without fatigue or discomfort
- Sufficient strength and stamina to remain standing for periods as long as two (2) hours without fatigue or discomfort
- Sufficient strength and stamina to remain in a “squatting” position for a reasonable period of time during the school day without fatigue or discomfort
- Ability to work in air conditioned and non‑air conditioned buildings
- Frequent exposure to various supplies containing hazardous materials or chemicals
- Occasional exposure to weather extremes
- Occupationally exposed to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials
