Assistant Cook; Part-Time

Position

Assistant Cook – Powell Middle School PART-TIME

Assist with food service operation for District's school lunch program; serve as a member of the District's food service team; work cooperatively with District and building-level food service personnel to prepare/serve attractive and nutritious meals for students; assist with necessary clean-up of cafeteria area; assist with maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen

• High school graduate or equivalent required
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with limited supervision as well as work effectively and cooperatively with other members of the food service team, students, and other District staff
• Demonstrated proficiency in food preparation required; experience and competency in institutional food preparation preferred
• Formal training and/or demonstrated competency in food sanitation highly preferred
• Willingness to obtain appropriate training/certification in food service areas as may be required
• Willingness to adapt to specific or new working situations

Salary:
District Support Services Wage Schedule –  Base = $19.05/hour
Employment Term: 20 hours per week (non-benefit eligible) during the school year – working student 175 days
Beginning Date:
August 20, 2026 with training before this date
