Position:
Special Education Para-educator Powell High School Duties:
Provide hands-on instructional assistance/support and daily care for students with special needs as directed by the teacher(s)/therapist(s) and building principal Responsibilities include following daily plans from supervising teacher(s) and/or therapist(s), making necessary preparations for student care, assisting student(s) as directed, collecting student data, following student behavior plans, and performing other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent required; two (2) years of college (48 hours) or Associate's Degree (or higher) highly preferred Demonstrated ability to work with a student that has special needs and follow instructions provided by the teacher and supervisor Team oriented; possession of human relations skills; ability to work cooperatively with parents and staff Ability to work in dynamic, diverse settings;

willingness to adapt to specific or new working situations; responding efficiently to feedback and providing direct support to students Prior experience with individuals with developmental and/or education-based disabilities, CPR/first aid training preferred Salary:
District Support Services Wage Schedule (2026-27 general para base = $18.65/hour; a para holding B.A. in education base = $19.65 per hour) Employment Term: 33.75 hours per week (175 student days + 6 holidays) this is a benefit eligible position Beginning Date:
August 20, 2026 with training before that date Closing Date:
