Student Support/Office Para-Educator
Position:
Student Support/Office Para-Educator--Powell Middle School Duties:
- Monitor students in the Opportunity Room Program with academic assignments
- Supervise students during lunch and maintain the record keeping for these students at the middle school
- Possess appropriate management skills which includes discipline of students, problem solving, imagination, patience, reasoning, creativity, judgement, and analytical abilities
- Experience in working with young people
- Maintains and stocks the copier room with supplies
- Organizes and files athletic paperwork
- Serve as a member of the building team; work cooperatively with the school administrator, teachers, and support personnel
- Assist with the overall functions of the school as assigned and contribute to a positive school atmosphere
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Demonstrated understanding of the function and organization of a school media center
- Demonstrated ability to work with computers and computer databases
- Demonstrated ability to relate to students of different age/ability levels and with varying needs
- Highly motivated and self-directed; ability to work independently and with limited supervision as well as work effectively with other members of the District staff required
- Demonstrated successful record of confidentiality and handling of confidential materials
- Willingness to adapt to specific or new working situations
- Demonstrated history of continued professional growth and ability to learn on the job
Salary:
District Support Services Wage Schedule -- base = $18.65/hour
Employment Term:
Twenty-eight and three-quarters (28.75) hours per week, one hundred seventy-five (175) days per year
Beginning Date:
August 20, 2026 with training before this date
Closing Date:
July 22, 2026
