Position: assistant cook - powell high school (hours 9:00 a.m. To 1:00 p.m.)

Duties: assist with food service operation for district's school lunch program; serve as a member of the district's food service team; work cooperatively with district and building-level food service personnel to prepare/serve attractive and nutritious meals for students; assist with necessary clean-up of cafeteria area; assist with maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen

Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent required

Demonstrated ability to work independently and with limited supervision as well as work effectively and cooperatively with other members of the food service team, students, and other district staff

Demonstrated proficiency in food preparation required; experience and competency in institutional food preparation preferred

Formal training and/or demonstrated competency in food sanitation highly preferred

Willingness to obtain appropriate training/certification in food service areas as may be required

Willingness to adapt to specific or new working situations

Salary: district support services wage schedule --  base = $17.05/hour for assistant cook

Employment term: four (4) hours per day on school days during school year, on days school is in session

This is not a benefit eligible position
