Position: 91B Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic

Job Description

As a Light‑Wheel Vehicle Mechanic for the Army National Guard you’ll ensure that anything that moves on wheels is ready to hit the road. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for supervising and performing maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles in the field and in the shop.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain wheeled vehicles, associated trailers and material handling equipment systems.
  • Inspect, service, maintain, repair, test, adjust and replace systems and components.
  • Perform recovery operations and service electrical systems including wiring harness and charging systems.
Helpful Skills
  • Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems.
  • Interest in automotive engines and how they work.
Training & Development

Your training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training, followed by 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) with both classroom and field components. The Army National Guard pays for your training, provides a regular paycheck, and qualifies you for tuition assistance.

Requirements
  • MUST be a member of the Army National Guard (military enlistment required).

  • Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
  • Must meet citizenship requirements.
