About the Position

Ensemble Schools seeks a fun, experienced, and professional piano instructor to teach part‑time at Music House School of Music in Prairie Village, KS. The position is primarily for in‑person instruction on Tuesday nights from 3p.m. to 9p.m. Groupclass instruction is highly desirable.

• Teach private lessons that build on the strengths and interests of each student.
• Lead group classes through the Music House curriculum.
• Attend monthly faculty meetings.
• Assist with three community events per year (recitals, jam sessions, faculty concerts).
• Communicate and interact with parents, faculty, and administrative staff.
• Track student attendance and maintain detailed teaching notes.
• Sign students up for and prepare them for group and individual performances.
• Create and/or follow lesson plans and teaching guides.

• Bachelor's degree in music education or performance (preferred).
• At least one year of teaching experience.
• Group teaching experience is a plus.
• Performance experience individually and in ensembles.
• Excellent written, speaking, and listening communication skills.
• Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficient with technology, including computers, mobile devices, internet browsers, and online applications.
• Reliable transportation, punctuality, and able to pass a routine background check.

Instructor pay is commensurate with experience and ranges from $24 to $28 per hour.
