Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Pratt Academic Center as a Building Paraprofessional. In this full-time role, you will provide essential support to teachers and students, facilitating a positive and productive learning environment. Your contributions will be vital in assisting with daily operations, promoting student engagement, and fostering academic success.

Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in the preparation and implementation of instructional activities and lesson plans.
  • Support students in their learning by providing individualized attention and assistance with academic tasks.
  • Monitor student behavior and provide guidance to ensure a safe and respectful classroom environment.
  • Help with classroom management, including organizing materials, maintaining supplies, and setting up learning spaces.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify student needs and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
  • Assist in the administration of assessments and tracking of student performance data.
  • Support extracurricular activities and school events as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed academically and socially.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from teachers and administrators.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and student needs.
  • Background check clearance as required by school district policies.
