Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic
You will repair, adjust, overhaul, perform major repairs, and maintenance on military and commercial designed heavy mobile equipment and special purpose vehicles. Perform initial and in-process inspections, minor body work, and conduct mechanical diagnostics to localize defects and determine causes of malfunction. Conduct preventive maintenance, including lubrication, adjustments, and minor part replacements, to extend equipment life and reduce downtime. Inspect repairs, overhauls and tests major systems including gasoline, diesel, electric powered hybrid, multi-fuel, turbine, and other types of internal combustion engines, which may be turbo-charged or blower assisted, automatic or manual transmissions, including those with power take offs, cross-drive transmissions, hydraulic, electric, pneumatic systems and controls, fluid pumping systems, turrets, winches and four wheel steering systems.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:
This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5 day workweek, then a 4 day workweek (8 nine-hour days and 1 eight-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80 hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements. Telework: ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK"
