The Program Coordinator for Belonging Programs is an integral member of the team primarily responsible for overseeing programmatic initiatives for the Centers for Student Success and Belonging, with a focus on support of the Indigenous Student Center.

The Program Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the Indigenous Student Center facility, develops and executes programming, supervises student interns, and leads the planning and execution of campus-wide programming for Native November while supporting broader programming across the Centers for Student Success and Belonging. The Program Coordinator also convenes the Indigenous Student Center Coalition, a group of faculty, staff and student stakeholders representing a variety of campus offices.

This position serves as a key resource and collaborator for campus-wide efforts toward access and inclusion.

• Organizes student-focused programming and resources to promote new and ongoing educational initiatives
• Support, supervise, and actively mentor student interns, fostering their personal and professional development, while cultivating a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment
• Management and general stewardship over daily operations of the Indigenous Student Center, 215 N. Brooks Street, including coordinating reservations for events, office hours, drop-in services, etc.
• Serves as a subject matter expert regarding student affairs to internal and external stakeholders
• Generates and analyzes reports of curricular and unit outcomes
• Creates and maintains schedules, logistics, and resources for one or multiple student affairs programs, activities, and/or services
• Lead campus-wide signature events and programs that foster belonging by creating inclusive, high-impact experiences with students and partners, ensuring responsive, collaborative initiatives that advance student success and cultivate a vibrant, pluralistic campus culture
• Writes, edits, and publishes content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives and established communication campaigns

Student Affairs, Student Success and Belonging, Centers for Student Success and Belonging

The Centers for Student Success and Belonging are organized within the Student Success and Belonging Theme Area of Student Affairs. Student Success and Belonging creates programming and operates spaces that provide support, advocacy, and co-curricular experiences that center, affirm, and celebrate UW students. We cultivate a sense of belonging and community while strengthening all students’ capacity to learn, lead, and thrive.

Within the Centers of Student Success and Belonging is the Multicultural Student Center, which is home to four cultural centers. This includes the Indigenous Student Center, which houses the portfolio's visibility and representation work focused on Native American and American Indian Tribal sovereignty, advancing access and inclusion, and development of programs and resources to foster awareness of Indigenous cultures and perspectives at UW-Madison.

Student Affairs at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, led by the vice chancellor for student affairs. Our staff is dedicated to serving students and to helping them succeed in and out of the classroom in areas including health and well-being, student success and belonging, leadership and engagement, and student advocacy. This position reports to the Assistant Director for Belonging Programs.

The expected starting salary range for this position is $50,000 up to $55,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
