Customer Data Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Support development and operations of New Glenn, Blue Origin’s heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle
• Lead the integrated data systems solution required to certify the New Glenn program
• Support National Security Space Launch and NASA program certifications
• Ensure data quality, sharing, maintenance, and customer engagement are implemented successfully
• Build and maintain relationships across the New Glenn program and with US Space Force and NASA partners
• Plan sophisticated products across multiple technical subject areas
• Develop, deliver, and communicate results in response to government certification requests
• Provide leadership for data systems supporting launch services for national security and civil science payloads
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• B.S. degree in engineering or an equivalent technical field
• Proven experience with integrated data environments or data systems
• Familiarity with AWS and UI/Application Development
• Expertise with collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA
• Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Windchill
• Experience with secure data-sharing platforms
• Experience with multi-dimensional data records for manufacturing, quality, configuration management, calibration records, work procedures, master equipment lists, and related areas
• Track record of enforcing data-marking best practices
• Experience with data platform-specific customer training and engagement metrics
• Solid understanding of project management and resource planning practices
• Experience with customer certification or mission assurance practices
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Excellent judgment and ability to make high-quality, high-velocity decisions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong background in product ownership
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee
• Required to complete Blue’s Standard Background Check

Demonstrates expertise in integrated data systems and project management, with a strong focus on customer engagement and certification processes for national security and civil science payloads. Proficient in utilizing collaboration and configuration management tools to ensure data quality and effective communication across diverse technical teams.
