Loan Coordinator

Job Details

• Reviews incoming documents to assure complete, accurate information and update information on computer system. Requests and verifies accuracy of incoming data and coordinates any problems/discrepancies with borrowers and loan originators. Assembles and analyzes borrower data and computes ratios for submission to loan underwriters. Prepares and sends commitment letters.
• Collects and verifies proof of income, inspects collateral, prepares title documentation and follows up. Collects 10‑day payoffs from other financial institutions, completes and finalizes all required loan documentation and handles disbursement of loan funds in a timely manner.
• Interacts with members to answer questions on the loan qualification process, sets appointments with lending agents, and promotes all available services.
• Audits new account and loan paperwork and works with lending agents to troubleshoot and resolve audit issues.

• Six months to two years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential. The role requires personal contact with others inside and outside the organization regarding routine matters, giving and obtaining information, advising or referring, which often involves short discussions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented and organized.

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, computer terminal and keyboard, facsimile, calculator, and understand computer basics. Must routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6‑8 hours per day, when necessary.

Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate‑controlled private or shared work area with minimal noise.

• Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either alone or as part of a team.
• Must be able to read and carry out various instructions and follow oral instructions.
• Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
• Must perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy.
• Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside the organization, demonstrating the highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.
• Must perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace.
• Must effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities.
• Must exercise the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
• Ability to perform non‑complex arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) to prepare loan files for submission to loan underwriters, typically achieved through a high school education.
