Transfusion RN

Overview

The RN - Transfusion role is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care in the Transfusion service within the Montgomery Cancer Center.

• Perform basic nursing assessment and evaluate patient condition.
• Administer medications and manage side effects.
• Conduct patient education and provide discharge instructions.
• Document care accurately in EMR.
• Coordinate care with providers according to orders and treatment protocols.
• Assist with additional duties within scope of the role as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; diploma or associate degree acceptable.
• At least one year of critical care or oncology experience required.

• Active RN license in Alabama required.
• BLS certification required.
• Additional certification (ACLS, PALS, Chemo, TNCC) may be required based on area of assignment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant clinical software.
• Strong teamwork and leadership abilities.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Capable of multitasking and meeting strict deadlines.
• Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
• Capability to supervise and train staff, schedule assignments, and monitor safety and infection control standards.
