the purpose of this position is to operate an assigned boom truck. Job duties consist of related equipment operation duties. Successful performance results in the successful collection of debris. Flsa status is non-exempt.

the following duties are normal for this classification. Equipment operation duties (70%) operates a boom truck to load trees, limbs, brush, and debris. Operates a compactor to compact trash. Surveys work sites for potential hazards. Assists in maintaining facilities and grounds. Assists with recycling center operations as needed. Equipment maintenance duties (10%) performs pre- and post-trip equipment inspections. Cleans equipment interior and exterior. Performs minor maintenance and repair duties.

Reports major repair needs to supervisor. Administrative duties (10%) receives daily work assignments and coordinates the work of assigned personnel. Maintains required records. Other related duties (10%) assists with other department tasks. Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. A valid alabama class "b" cdl preferred. One (1) year of experience in performing heavy manual labor preferred. One (1) year of experience in the operation of trucks and heavy equipment.
