Schedule / Job TypeContract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care within a combined-acuity Multi-Care Unit managing ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg level patients on a single unit (no floating between acuity levels within the unit)
- Titrate drips including sedation, vasopressors, and insulin; manage non-titratable infusions for PCU-level patients
- Monitor ICU patients via bedside cardiac monitor; perform and interpret 12-lead EKGs; collaborate with Remote Monitor Techs for PCU and Med-Surg patients
- Care for patients with diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory arrest, COPD, pneumonia, DKA, drug/alcohol withdrawal, and post-operative complications
- Float as needed to adult Med-Surg, Pediatric (adult assignment), and West Campus ICU/PCU to maintain competency across patient populations (two-hour notice provided prior to floating)
- Participate in holiday rotation and low-census standby rotation as required
- Active RN license
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience; will consider 1 year ICU plus 1 year PCU/Med-Surg from a larger facility with strong clinical skills
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract signing
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Must not have worked as a full-time, part-time, or PRN employee at any Common Spirit-affiliated facility (including CHI and/or Dignity) within the past 12 months
- Experience working in a combined or variable-acuity unit environment
- Familiarity with ventilator management and respiratory support equipment (BiPAP, CPAP)
- Experience caring for patients with cardiac monitoring needs and interpreting cardiac rhythms
