Position Overview

Cashiers play a critical customer service role by providing customers with fast, friendly, accurate and safe service. They process Checkout and/or Return transactions, monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area, and proactively seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities. They follow policies to minimize shrink. A Head Cashier may assist by expediting price checks, approving POS transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.

They provide first-level escalation for customer issues and assist in supervising, coaching and training Front End Associates.

• Process Checkout and/or Return transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area and assist customers as needed.
• Seek product knowledge to provide information and identify selling opportunities.
• Follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrink.
• Support Head Cashier by expediting price checks and approving certain transactions and markdowns as applicable.
• Provide first-level escalation for customer issues and assist in supervising, coaching and training other Front End Associates.

• Preferred qualification: 1+ years of Cashier experience.
