Position Summary
The Tracking and Monitoring Specialist supports court‑referred youth by delivering structured oversight, accountability, and consistent communication between clients, JCS staff, and community partners. This position plays a vital role in maintaining program integrity by ensuring timely reporting, facilitating collaborative problem‑solving with supervisory staff, and supporting client progress within the judicial district. The Specialist upholds confidentiality and agency standards while fostering strong working relationships with JCOs, schools, families, and other key stakeholders.
WorkEnvironment
Primarily office‑based, with occasional travel to various centers within the state of Iowa. The role is performed indoors at facilities and may involve exposure to communicable diseases and the potential for cuts and bruises. Flexible working hours may be required to address clinical needs and emergencies.
Requirements- Provide tracking and monitoring services to JCS‑referred clients in the judicial district (SL)
- Administer and report Alcohol and Drug Testing (EI)
- Provide Electronic Monitoring Services (SL)
- Perform random, unannounced post‑curfew face‑to‑face checks on assigned clients at a frequency requested by JCS (EI)
- Communicate with all collateral contacts of clients (i.e., School, JCO, Family, etc.) (OC)
- Coordinate with the supervisor in assessing the overall program to identify any changes needed for optimum functioning (GC)
- Inform Supervisor of all relevant situations (OC)
- Be available to JCS for information, support, and help (D)
- Work directly with the district JCOs (D)
- Provide accurate written documentation of all contact with clients, both face‑to‑face and collateral (OC)
- Provide accurate written documentation of all phone calls with clients and collateral contacts (OC)
- Contact school officials for updates on attendance and behavior (OC)
- Track active caseload, admits, and discharges of Tracking and Monitoring services (SR)
- Abide by The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (42 USC & 201 et seq.) (SR)
- All other duties as assigned (D)
