Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

Role Description

The Controller is a full-time, on-site role based at Galpin Ford Inc. in Prescott, AZ. This position oversees all dealership accounting and financial operations, including general ledger maintenance, monthly closing, financial reporting, and cash management. The Controller monitors budget performance, prepares forecasts, and ensures compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulations. Daily responsibilities include supervising the accounting staff, reviewing and reconciling schedules, managing payables and receivables, and working closely with dealership leadership to support strategic decisions.

The role also involves collaborating with external partners such as auditors, lenders, and OEM representatives to maintain accurate records and strong financial stewardship.

• Strong skills in financial accounting, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Knowledge of internal controls, compliance, and audit practices within a business or dealership environment.
• Proficiency with accounting software and dealership management systems, as well as MS Excel and other office tools.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team supervision, workload prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with leadership, staff, and external partners.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification or dealership accounting experience is a plus.
• Automotive dealership or retail industry financial experience is highly beneficial.
