Fitness Center Attendant

Job Overview

Performs non‑exempt work requiring understanding of a specific function or body of knowledge.

• Clerical duties requiring exercise of judgment under general supervision, including bookkeeping, cash handling, inventory, and assisting faculty in preparing for classes and labs.
• Reviewing and approving established reports.
• Determining garnishment amounts.
• Tracking and reconciling invoices and purchase orders.
• Assists with maintenance‑related duties.
• Performance hall truck loader and wardrobe technician.
• Operation of common hand and power tools to complete required repairs.
• Completion of work orders and related paperwork.

• Two years’ experience in an office setting or in completing administrative and/or service/technical duties.
• Excellent customer service skills, including personal and telephone interaction.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and adhere to deadlines.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision.
• Regular attendance is essential.
• Work experience in a community college or higher education environment.

The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear, frequently to use hands and eyes to touch, handle, or feel, and sometimes required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision.

The work environment is usually quiet.
