Graphic Designer

Overview

Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) seeks a dynamic, student‑centered, forward‑thinking Graphic Designer to provide visionary leadership in an in‑person, full‑time position at the Prescott, Arizona campus, reporting to the Director of Creative and Brand Strategy.

• Develop creative concepts and visual solutions aligning with project goals and university brand standards.
• Execute designs for publications, campaigns, digital assets, environmental graphics, and other formats.
• Prepare production‑ready files for print and digital distribution, ensuring accuracy, quality, accessibility, and consistency.
• Collaborate with clients, copywriters, and the design team to adhere to brand guidelines under direction from the Creative Director and Director of Creative and Brand Strategy.
• Stay current with design trends, tools, and best practices in higher education marketing and visual communication; contribute ideas to improve workflows.

• Participate in weekly creative team meetings and one‑on‑one meetings to discuss workload, priorities, and performance.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders, incorporating feedback to strengthen creative solutions.
• Maintain accurate project status updates and task management within the department’s system.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Creative Director or Director of Creative and Brand Strategy.

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of creative/marketing experience, preferably in a higher‑ed or agency environment.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design, typography, color, and print‑production skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with detail orientation.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including client pitches.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven university environment.

• Paid leave: up to 18 days in the first year, including 3 days at hire and 15 days accrued.
• 9+ paid holidays.

• Retirement contributions: 6% base salary + 4% match with no vesting period.
• Personal leave: 15 days for non‑exempt, 18 days for exempt full‑time employees in the first year.
