Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Prescott, Arizona campus has multiple openings for Certified Flight Instructors to join our team. Opportunity

Embry-Riddle’s Prescott Campus seeks Certified Flight Instructors to join our team. The campus emphasizes high standards of instruction and training, with a climate conducive to flight operations and a collaborative campus community. The campus is located 100 miles north of Phoenix and 120 miles south of the Grand Canyon.

Job Duties
  • Provide flight, simulator, and ground instruction in accordance with ERAU syllabi and FAA regulations and procedures. Prepare schedules, maintain records, and ensure course standards and training requirements are met by each student in each flight course.
  • Perform duties of a certificated flight instructor as authorized by the FAA in accordance with the approved Training Course Outline.
  • Ensure all students understand and practice ERAU Aviation Safety Program requirements.
  • Schedule assigned students to ensure satisfactory progress and inform supervisor of any delays in training or progress concerns.
  • Maintain all appropriate records including student training records, student logbooks, and computer records.
  • Ensure course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met by all assigned students as outlined in the Training Course Outline.
  • Initiate stage checks and End-of-Course requests for assigned students.
  • Ensure timely course completion of all flight students, including required paperwork.
  • Monitor the maintenance condition of training aircraft and report any items to ERAU maintenance personnel.
  • Recommend curriculum and courseware improvements and develop new curriculum or courseware as assigned.
  • File incident reports as necessary to report safety violations or situations affecting flight safety.
  • Attend administrative, standardization, in-service training, and instructor development meetings as assigned.
  • Perform duties as a stage check instructor when permitted and as required after FAA approval.
  • Assist with special projects such as TCO rewrites, changes to ERAU ops manual, aircraft standardization manuals and SOPs, and participate in working groups and flight evaluation boards.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
