The Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer supports the design, development, and ongoing performance of wireless network solutions for Epiroc's mining customers. This role applies RF engineering, propagation modeling, spatial data analysis, and network design expertise to develop reliable solutions using a variety of wireless technologies and vendors. Working closely with Solutions Architects, Customer Engagement, Delivery, and Project Management, the RF Engineer provides technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from site assessments and network design through deployment and customer support.

The work environment includes both office and field-based settings, with travel to customer and mine sites where exposure to industrial equipment, outdoor weather conditions, dust, noise, and other mining-related conditions may occur. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds, frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally required to lift up to or in excess of 100 pounds.

• Conduct mine site surveys, including RF propagation and interference studies, assessment of existing infrastructure, and completion of required site survey documentation.
• Develop wireless network architectures and detailed designs for mining customers, including Wi-Fi and LTE/5G solutions, infrastructure placement, backhaul links, frequency plans, Bills of Materials (BOM), and test plans.
• Process and edit topographic information using GIS and radio modeling tools to build and maintain accurate RF propagation models based on current customer information.
• Assist the Customer Engagement Team with site assessments, preliminary wireless network designs, and development of rough order of magnitude Bills of Materials.
• Develop work packages and maintain accurate technical and deployment documentation for installation teams while supporting the development and improvement of related processes.
• Provide technical expertise during customer meetings and assist Sales and Product Management with technical responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and other customer requirements.
• Collaborate with Solutions Architects, Delivery, and Project Management to support wireless network design, deployment, and scheduling of technical service engagements.
• Provide technical consulting and customer support related to 3D-P products and wireless network solutions as required.
