Piano Accompanist - Vocal​/Instrumental

Piano accompanists may play for choral ensembles, musical productions, and private vocal and instrumental music students.

* Accompanist duties include playing during regular class sessions, rehearsals, recitals, private lessons, and performances; some performances may be off campus

* Works under the close supervision of music directors and instructors

* Other related duties as assigned

This is a temporary part-time position working 0
-19 hours per week as scheduled.

* At least one year of experience in playing piano as an accompanist with individuals or groups

* Ability to play in a wide variety of musical styles, such as classical, jazz, pop and Broadway

* Basic knowledge of music theory including notation, musical symbols, scales, chords, terminology, harmony and rhythm

* Ability to listen closely and follow oral instructions

* Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships

* Experience playing piano in front of audiences

* Ability to play difficult music at an advanced level

* Ability to adjust playing style to match differing student/ensemble levels

- Work experience in a community college/higher education environment
