About the Role

SummaryAs a primary contact for bank customers, the Senior Personal Banker is responsible for developing and retaining customer relationships through providing a consistent level of exceptional service; opening new business and consumer accounts; responding to customer inquiries and providing solutions based on their needs; proactively working to develop and maintain long‑standing customer relationships; greeting, listening, engaging, and actively profiling to ascertain customer needs and present mutually beneficial financial solutions;
maintaining high quality personal performance and professional standards and proactively seeking support and training as needed; assisting and supporting the Branch Manager with oversight of Personal Bankers and New Account Representatives; and serving as a backup if the Assistant Branch Manager is absent.
- Assists and supports the Branch Manager with hiring decisions, training, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and coaching or mentoring of personal bankers and new account representatives.
- Assists Branch Manager in overseeing the branch in the event that both Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager are absent.
- Originates consumer loans for the branch and as assigned by the Consumer Loan Department Manager.
- Opens, maintains, or originates consumer and business deposit, savings, health, time deposit accounts, IRAs, foreign/domestic wires, safe deposit boxes, and e‑banking products efficiently.
- Promotes and assists customers with aspects of the Visa Business Card.
- Prepares associated documentation and scans for record retention purposes within required time frames.
- Educates customers about penalties, earnings, etc.
- Displays exceptional customer‑service skills to gain, retain, and maintain customer relationships.
- Primarily responsible for developing and retaining customer relationships.
- Plays an integral role in bank growth by meeting customers’ needs while maintaining profitability and proactively finding opportunities to enhance customer relationships.
- Identifies customer needs through active listening and profiling and fulfills them with appropriate products and services.
- Act promptly on customer requests, follow through on commitments and obligations, and asks follow‑up questions to confirm satisfaction.
- Processes ACH and debit‑card disputes, stop payments, etc., and escalates as necessary.
- Might act as a teller when needed; maintains up‑to‑date training and compliance standards.
- Maintains proficient knowledge of bank products and services to present appropriate solutions.
- Answers incoming calls, directs calls, takes messages, and returns calls.
- Completes bank training in a timely manner.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Complies with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
- Might need to work at other Foothills Bank branches due to staffing shortages.
- Participates in community service and bank‑sponsored activities.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 3+ years of banking experience.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
- Advanced account opening and maintenance skills.
- Familiarity with consumer lending.
- Ability to lead positively with a focus on others.
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate‑controlled shared work area with a moderate noise level.
