International Sales Engineer

Role Purpose (Position Scope)

The Sales Engineer is a customer-facing technical and commercial role responsible for driving customer engagement, supporting business growth, and ensuring successful execution of customer requirements across the organization. Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, this role serves as a primary liaison between customers and Canyon’s engineering, operations, customer service, and leadership teams.

The Sales Engineer combines technical aptitude, relationship management, and commercial awareness to support both existing business and new growth opportunities. This individual works closely with customers throughout the sales and product lifecycle — from opportunity identification and proposal development through implementation, training, ongoing support, and issue resolution.

The role requires the ability to understand customer operational needs, translate those needs into actionable business and technical requirements, and coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure customer satisfaction and profitable business outcomes. The Sales Engineer also supports strategic growth initiatives through market analysis, customer feedback, and participation in business development activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts and Business Unit programs
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support long-term business growth and customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate customer communications and ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and executed internally
  • Support customer onboarding, product implementation, operational training, and ongoing application support activities
  • Respond to customer inquiries, technical questions, and operational issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Act as an escalation point for customer concerns requiring cross-functional coordination
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, customer service, and Business Unit leadership to support successful execution of customer requirements
  • Translate customer needs into actionable technical, operational, and commercial requirements
  • Support product demonstrations, installations, troubleshooting, and application support as needed
  • Coordinate internal activities to ensure commitments, schedules, and deliverables are achieved
  • Communicate customer feedback, operational challenges, and emerging requirements to support continuous product improvement
  • Identify and support new business opportunities within assigned accounts and markets
  • Assist with proposal development, pricing activities, quotations, and contract support
  • Participate in customer meetings, trade shows, demonstrations, and industry events to strengthen relationships and identify growth opportunities
  • Support sales forecasting, bookings tracking, and pipeline management activities
  • Analyze market conditions, customer feedback, and competitive activity to support strategic decision-making
