Position OverviewThe Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating the plant’s master production schedule to ensure customer demand is met while balancing capacity, material availability, inventory targets, and operational efficiency. This role acts as the key link between sales forecasts, supply planning, procurement, production, and shipping to translate demand into a feasible and executable manufacturing plan, improving schedule adherence, supporting on‑time delivery, inventory accuracy, and overall plant performance.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and publish the master production schedule (MPS) for the manufacturing plant.
- Translate forecasts, customer orders, and inventory targets into daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.
- Validate schedule feasibility based on machine capacity, material supply, and lead times.
- Run and analyze ERP/MRP planning outputs to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Monitor schedule adherence, production output, and plan‑versus‑actual performance; identify root causes of variance and drive corrective actions.
- Coordinate closely with all departments to resolve constraints and maintain flow.
- Manage inventory levels for raw materials, work‑in‑process, and finished goods to support service levels while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
- Sequence and adjust production orders to optimize throughput, minimize downtime and changeovers, and respond to demand changes or disruptions.
- Lead weekly production review and planning meetings, highlighting risks, priorities, and recovery plans.
- Maintain planning master data such as lead times and bills of material for schedule accuracy.
- Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, data quality, and cross‑functional execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field.
- 3‑7 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, materials management, or manufacturing operations.
- APICS / ASCM certification such as CPIM or CSCP.
- Strong understanding of master scheduling, capacity planning, inventory control, and manufacturing workflows.
- Hands‑on experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical/problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to interpret forecasts, demand signals, and operational data to make sound planning decisions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and KPI‑driven operations would be advantageous.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70,000–$90,000 per year.
