Value Stream Leader

Job Overview

We are searching for a Value Stream Leader with 5+ years of leadership experience in a production setting. The Leader will work collaboratively with leadership, operations, functional areas, and employees to promote a productive work environment while efficiently meeting business needs. The role is hands‑on and involves substantial time on the factory floor, overseeing all aspects of the assigned department or line.

• Manage day‑to‑day operations to meet production schedules.
• Support, coach, and train team leaders to observe and facilitate standard work.
• Edit and approve time for employees in the group using Workday.
• Schedule mixed‑model production to meet customer needs in collaboration with VSM, sales, and marketing.
• Ensure quality of manufactured components meets specifications; provide regular feedback to associates, including daily coaching, 30‑60‑85 day reviews, and semi‑annual bell‑curve reviews.
• Manage CCAA meetings; identify concerns and drive root‑cause corrective actions for safety, quality, delivery, or cost issues.
• Maintain cell board metrics (attendance, qualifications, safety, quality, delivery, cost, etc.) and drive improvements.
• Identify production process weaknesses and work with engineering to address them.
• Enforce company and department policies, safety rules, and guidelines fairly and equally; initiate corrective actions and performance improvement plans when needed.
• Identify and address potentially hazardous conditions, fostering a proactive safety culture.
• Track and manage serial numbers in Oracle for ATF compliance.
• Lead kaizen activities, encouraging associates to identify waste and improve their areas.
• Coordinate with buyer/planner, maintenance, engineering, toolmaking, and customer service departments to support unit operations.
• Identify training opportunities for associates to improve job skills.
• Become familiar with all phases of plant operations, including CNC, machining, grinding, polishing, deburring, bluing, inspection, assembly, and testing.

• Proficient with e‑mail, Workday, Oracle, and MS Office.
• Logical and lean thinking to identify and eliminate waste.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a drug and background screen.
• Age 18 years or older.
• Comfortable with limited travel as required.

The job requires the employee to talk or hear regularly; frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The position involves sitting, walking, and lifting up to 40 pounds several times throughout the day. The job is performed standing all day with substantial movement, bending, lifting, grasping, and applying pressure to objects with the fingers and palms.

Verbalizing detailed or important information to others accurately is also required.

Limited travel required.
