Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills to provide comprehensive care for patients with cardiac and medical conditions in an acute setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for a diverse population, including patients with CHF, COVID-19, respiratory issues, GI conditions, diabetes, post-catheterization care, and total joint replacements.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips. Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of patient status.
- Administer medications and manage intravenous (IV) drips, including Diltiazem/Cardizem at a set rate.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure quality outcomes for patients.
Qualifications
- Active RN license.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Experience in reading basic telemetry strips and familiarity with CVA and TIA management.
- Prior experience with Cerner charting is preferred to facilitate the orientation process.
- Experience in managing patients following total joint replacement surgery is beneficial.
Unit Information
Our Telemetry unit consists of 49 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5.
Schedule
This position requires 12-hour shifts with self-scheduling for staff, balancing operational needs. A commitment to work two weekends within a four-week schedule and holiday shifts during major holidays is expected. Floating to adjacent units may be required based on patient care needs.
Orientation
All new hires will receive one shift of unit-specific orientation to ensure a smooth transition onto the team.
