This position involves providing specialized nursing care within a dynamic step down environment, supporting patient recovery and monitoring post-surgical and cardiac patients.

  • Required Qualifications:

    Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), at least 2 years of nursing experience in a step down or acute care setting, familiarity with managing titratable drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin, and experience interpreting cardiac strips.
  • Schedule:

    12-hour shifts, scheduled 6 weeks in advance; float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information:
    The role involves working on a fast-paced adult inpatient unit, caring for geriatric, ortho, and post-procedural cardiac patients including those post-myocardial infarction, post-cardiac catheterization, and post-CABG. Nurse aids are utilized, and nurses must be comfortable managing ventilator equipment such as CPAP or BiPAP as needed. Orientation includes 8 hours of general hospital training and 12 hours on the specific unit.
