The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will play a key role in evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients with acute and chronic pain conditions. This provider will work closely with our physicians and clinical team to develop individualized treatment plans, provide follow‑up care, assist with procedures, and ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
What You'll Do Patient Evaluation & Care Management- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, medical histories, and physical examinations
- Review diagnostic imaging, laboratory results, and prior records
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Manage patient medications and monitor treatment effectiveness
- Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, case managers, and referring providers
- Assist with and perform procedures within scope of practice and training
- Participate in interventional pain management workflows including:
- Epidural steroid injections
- Medial branch blocks
- Radio frequency ablation procedures
- Sacroiliac joint injections
- Peripheral nerve blocks
- Joint injections
- Ultrasound‑guided procedures
- Other minimally invasive treatments
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, and recovery expectations
- Monitor progress through follow‑up visits
- Adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate
- Promote patient engagement, compliance, and overall wellness
- Maintain detailed and accurate EMR documentation
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and clinical standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and best practice development
Required:
- Active Arizona Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license (or ability to obtain)
- National Board Certification
- DEA registration and prescribing authority
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Experience utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment
- Experience in Pain Management, Orthopedics, Spine Care, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
- Procedural experience and musculoskeletal evaluation skills
- Experience in an outpatient specialty or interventional setting
- Interest in developing expertise in Interventional Pain Medicine
