Job DescriptionThe Western Maine Regional Program for Children with Exceptionalities (WMRPCE) is a public regional special education program seeking dynamic, collaborative, and creative special education Ed Tech II or III’s in both of our social, emotional, behavior programs at our Oxford, Maine (7-12) site. Students in this type of program have a wide variety of academic, functional, and developmental needs that must be addressed in ways that foster student development and growth.
Responsibilities- Be student centered
- Be energetic and enthusiastic about supporting students
- Have experience building positive relationships with students and supporting student success
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with other educators
- Be Safety Care trained or willing to be trained
- Work successfully with a collaborative educational team
- Accurately collect student data and record data on a computer
- Hold a current Educational Technician II or III Authorization and a current Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) from Maine Department of Education
- Enjoy working with students and supporting teachers to achieve goals and objectives for each individual student
- Work 1:1 or with small groups of students to implement goals/objectives of the Individual Education Programs with academic, vocational, daily living, and/or study skills
- Introduce new learning pre-planned in consultation with the teacher
- Implement positive behavior support plans of students as needed
- Strong skills in communication, organization and interpersonal relations
- Must have flexibility and creative problem-solving ability
- Have knowledge of the curriculum appropriate to job assignment
- Must meet Maine Educational Technician III requirements and preferably coursework in education and experience working with children, experience working with children with disabilities
