Overview

“Chewonki inspires transformative growth, teaches appreciation and stewardship of the natural world, and challenges people to build thriving, sustainable communities throughout their lives.”

Join Chewonki’s Educational Farm as a Seasonal Farm Worker and spend your season growing food, caring for livestock, and helping connect people—especially young campers—to the rhythms of farm life. This is a chance to live your values, learn every day, and be part of a team that believes food, land, and education can change lives.

Dates: Late May 2026 – October 1, 2026 (flexible)

  • Participate in the daily care of livestock (pastured sheep, pigs, and laying hens). Move animals and fences daily as part of the rotational grazing system.
  • During the Camp Chewonki season, integrate campers into various work and educational projects as well as daily farm tasks.
  • Rotate chore responsibilities, caring for animals and gardens on a Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday schedule (in collaboration with a year-round farmer) and 1–2 nights per week for 15-minute evening barn check shifts. Summer days begin early and end late.
All Farm Crew Members
  • Balance production and education within the farm context.
  • Work on the Chewonki campus and share meals with the community.
