SUMMARY:

The delivery driver position primary responsibility is to assist with the movement of food through the district. Coordinates the delivery of supplies from central storage locations to schools, maintains the food storage areas, and delivers prepared meals to locations through the district daily. Position is also responsible for the daily mail drops and pick up in each school.

30 hours per week

JOB GOAL:
Provide safe timely daily delivery and pick up of the meals at the districts satellite schools in a safe in timely manner in addition to coordinating the pickup and delivery of the mail in the Auburn School Department. Transport and receive food stored at the district’s central warehouse facility.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Responsible for the sanitary transportation of meals to satellite schools. Return to satellite schools each day to pick up totes with dishes to be cleaned at central kitchen.
2.Receive and transports USDA commodities, food and supplies to all schools.
3.Accountable for accurate delivery, unloading, and maintaining storage of U.S.D.A. commodity shipments/Nutrition Program supplies. Cashier training
4.Performs daily pick-up of funds from all schools and transporting deposits to the designated location.
5.Maintains USDA storerooms and freezers for the Nutrition Program.
6.Daily mail pick up at Central Office and delivery to schools.
7.Complete required (six) professional development hours annually at the dates and times set by the Nutrition Director.
8.Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPIERENCE:
High School diploma or general education degree. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

The employee frequently must squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward.

The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools and climbs onto ladders. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as cases. Occasionally the employee will lift and/or move up to 90 pounds such as furniture and equipment. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
