Forklift Operator​/Yard Manager

FORKLIFT OPERATOR / YARD MANAGER

Serve as the primary coordinator for yard operations, material handling, loading, unloading, and inventory control. This position plays a critical role in ensuring materials move safely and efficiently through the fabrication process and arrive at jobsites ready for installation.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks
• Organize and maintain steel inventory within the yard
• Verify incoming and outgoing material quantities
• Coordinate material movement between the yard and production areas
• Stage material for fabrication, welding, and shipping
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities
• Maintain accurate inventory and material tracking records
• Ensure yard cleanliness, organization, and safety
• Work closely with Project Managers, Production, and Shipping personnel
• Assist with equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Identify damaged, missing, or incorrect materials and communicate issues promptly

• Forklift operating experience required
• Experience in steel fabrication, construction, manufacturing, or related industry preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills
• Ability to safely move and handle large steel components
• Ability to read load lists, shipping documents, and material tags
• Self-motivated and dependable
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
