Acting Head:
Finance Position (6 Months Contract)

The Head:
Finance will be responsible for leading and managing the Finance Department to ensure sound financial management, compliance with legislation, and alignment with organisational strategic objectives. The successful candidate will oversee financial systems, budgeting, reporting, governance, and audit processes while ensuring operational efficiency and effective people management.
- Lead and manage the Finance Department and its operations.
- Develop and manage annual budgets aligned with organisational strategy.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Manage group accounting, consolidations, and investment valuations.
- Oversee external audit processes and ensure audit readiness.
- Ensure compliance with PFMA, National Treasury guidelines, and internal policies.
- Manage cash flow forecasting and financial risk registers.
- Prepare Annual Financial Statements for Board and external audit submission.
- Lead and mentor finance staff to ensure high performance and compliance.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagements, meetings, and reporting activities.
- 8–10 years’ broad‑based financial management and auditing experience post‑articles.
- Additional postgraduate qualifications will be advantageous.
- 5–8 years’ experience in group accounting, including consolidations and equity accounting.
- 5–8 years’ experience in impairments and valuation of investments.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in senior management.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing external audit processes.
- Strong experience in applying the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
- Experience with in the public sector or large complex organisations will be advantageous.
