Litigation Secretary

Our client is a new, smaller firm looking for an experienced Litigation Secretary to join their team at their offices in Pretoria East. If you have a strong background in Litigation and can hit the ground running, we want to hear from you!
Minimum requirements:

5–10 years’ experience as a Litigation Secretary in a law firm environment.

Experience with Caselines, Court Online, Legal Suite is highly advantageous

Strong knowledge of High Court and Magistrates’ Court procedures.

Excellent dicta phone typing speed and accuracy.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced litigation environment.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Provide full litigation secretarial support to attorneys and partners.

Draft, format and prepare High Court and Magistrates’ Court pleadings and notices.

Perform dicta phone typing and document transcription with high accuracy.

Manage litigation files, court documents and correspondence.

Maintain attorneys’ diaries, court dates and litigation deadlines.

Liaise with clients, advocates, sheriffs and court officials.

Prepare briefs to counsel and arrange consultations with advocates.

File and upload documents on Case Lines / Court Online where applicable.

Ensure all documentation complies with court rules and procedures.

Assist with billing, invoicing and general legal administrative tasks.
