Job PurposeTo manage the provision of collective management of rights in copyright, provide legal support and policy promotion on copyright and the impact of applicable regulation, disseminate the findings and positions and co-ordinate activities with multilateral agencies and other relevant authorities
RequiredMinimum Education /Training
A relevant LLB Degree
Required Minimum Experience- More than ten years’ experience in copyright field with admission as attorney or advocate and exposure in legislative process in intellectual property policy or legislation
- Demonstrated exposure of the South African copyright landscape
- To manage and regulate collecting societies in copyright and provide the implementation of well researched and relevant strategies to facilitate considered and consistent policy positions that are supported by reliable evidence and research;
- To provide legal support conduct research and develop implementation positions on copyright and the impact of applicable regulation, disseminate the findings and positions and co-ordinate activities with local and multilateral agencies and other relevant authorities in accordance with approved guidelines, operating policies and procedures and set norms and standards;
- To contribute into the strategic and business planning and budgeting for the Business Unit;
- To ensure adherence to human resource, financial and administrative policies and procedures in the section;
- To ensure the proper administration, governance and risk management of the section.
- To support the Senior Manager of the Business Unit.

Qualifications and SA citizenship checks will be conducted on the successful candidate. It is the applicant’s responsibility to have foreign qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
