Reports to Managing Executive
The Head of Sales, SA will execute a strategy focusing on generating profitable and sustainable growth of the business. The incumbent is responsible for keeping the team motivated to achieve sales targets, continuously generating new opportunities for the organization and driving consistent and profitable growth in sales revenues through effective planning, deployment and management of Third‑Party Commercial Operations and Viya Health Sales Organization.
Key Responsibilities- Leads & provides guidance to an efficient and high‑quality team, promoting synergy and best practice sharing among resources.
- Drives active cross‑functional collaboration to ensure success of all marketing / commercial projects & launch excellence.
- Maintains high standards of communication and delivers best‑in‑class services.
- Provides guidance on training requirements in relation to Commercial processes.
- Actively involved in management of business reviews, IQVIA TPM Market and Marketing Intelligence & Competitor Insights; relevant contracts management; providing BD&L support; digital governance while ensuring alignment across Regional and Global processes as well as overseeing and adhering to VIYA HEALTH Ethics & Compliance principles.
- Manages the sales / co‑op team budgets/expenses.
- Responsible for developing & managing overall sales objectives for South Africa.
- Ensures accurate sales forecasts for both short and long term.
- Analyzes revenue growth and monitors profit margins and targets.
- Networks with potential customers and business partners to promote products.
- Establishes effective relationships and collaborations with other departments (Marketing, Finance, Regulatory & Quality, HR, etc.) to address key business issues and opportunities.
- Creates a sales culture through development and coaching, ensures sound performance management processes, staff succession plans and continuously scouts for talent.
- Ensures professional effective launching of new/line extension products.

RequirementsThe basics:
Educational Background- Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Commerce, Marketing or equivalent (NQF Level
7). - MBA or equivalent required (NQF Level
8).
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a sales management position within an independent channels environment in FMCG/pharmaceuticals with demonstrable line management experience.
- Proven experience within the Pharmaceutical Industry (Private & Public Sector) is a key advantage.
- Financial acumen:
Proven ability to plan and manage budgets. - Excellent leadership, communication and decision‑making skills.
