Job SummaryAn established hotel in the Loftus Arcadia Pretoria area is seeking a seasoned, hands-on Sous Chef to oversee diverse culinary operations across multiple kitchens. This pivotal role requires a powerhouse leader with over 8 years of relevant experience in a hotel environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading from the front to deliver exceptional food quality across Ala Carte, buffet-style service, and functions and events.
Beyond technical cooking skills, you must possess the ability to manage and control multiple kitchen sections simultaneously, ensuring seamless delivery even under significant pressure. As a key member of the management team, your duties will encompass menu development, rigorous stock control, food costing, and kitchen administration. You will be expected to maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and quality control while effectively mentoring and managing a disciplined brigade.
Applicants must be South African citizens, fluent in English, and impeccably groomed to meet our professional standards. We are looking for a hardworking individual with a proven track record of leadership and strong, contactable references who is ready to take full ownership of both the culinary and administrative functions of a high-volume kitchen. Salary R 20 – 22 K with medical aid / provident fund contribution plus incentive and bonus opportunity.
