Operations Geologist

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Operations Geologist to join their exploration and production team in Pretoria . This role is crucial for providing real-time geological support during drilling operations, ensuring wells are safely and effectively targeted and geologically understood. You will interpret wellsite data, advise on geological hazards, and contribute to geological modeling efforts. • Provide real-time geological support during drilling operations, including wellsite geology .
• Interpret geological data from various sources, including cuttings, core samples, and logging tools.
• Identify and advise on potential geological hazards, such as over pressure zones and faults.
• Update geological models based on new well data and operational feedback.
• Collaborate closely with drilling engineers, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers.
• Contribute to the generation of technical reports and geological summaries.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or a related Earth Science field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations geology , preferably within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in geological software for well correlation, mapping, and data interpretation .
• Experience with lithological description, biostratigraphy, and basic petrophysics.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills for a hybrid work setting.
