About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Solar Installation Technician to join their growing team in Pretoria . This hands-on role involves the physical installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential and commercial properties, ensuring that all work is performed safely and to the highest quality standards. You will work directly with homeowners and business owners, playing a crucial part in the transition to renewable energy within the Gauteng region.

This is an essential on-site position that requires physical capability, technical proficiency, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

• Install solar panels, mounting hardware, inverters, and associated electrical equipment according to design specifications and safety protocols .
• Perform electrical wiring and connections, ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.
• Conduct system testing and commissioning after installation to verify functionality and performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair existing solar installations as needed.
• Educate customers on the operation and maintenance of their new solar energy system.
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite and ensure all tools and equipment are properly handled and stored.

• Proven experience as a Solar Installation Technician or in a related field (e.g., electrician, construction).
• Strong understanding of solar PV systems , electrical principles, and safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation manuals.
• Physical ability to work at heights, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; ability to travel to job sites within the Pretoria area.
