Solar Technician - Qualified Electrician

Introduction

Our client is a growing commercial solar energy company delivering solar PV and energy solutions to businesses across South Africa.

We are looking for a Solar Technician who is a Qualified Electrician to join their technical team. This is a hands‑on role suited to an electrician who enjoys working in the renewable energy sector and has experience with commercial solar PV installations, fault‑finding, commissioning, and maintenance
.

You will be responsible for ensuring solar systems are installed, commissioned, maintained, and operating safely and efficiently.

• Install, commission, maintain, and repair commercial solar PV systems.

• Perform electrical installations, wiring, terminations, and connections.

• Install and connect solar inverters, AC/DC distribution boards, protection equipment, and monitoring systems.

• Conduct system testing, commissioning, and performance checks.

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and solar system faults.

• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on commercial solar installations.

• Conduct site inspections and identify electrical, safety, and system‑performance issues.

• Perform testing and verification of electrical installations.

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams, and technical documentation.

• Assist with solar PV system upgrades, expansions, and modifications.

• Ensure installations comply with applicable electrical regulations, standards, and safety requirements.

• Red Seal:
  Electrician
• 2-3 years experience
• Experience working on solar installations

R30 000 CTC to R35 000 CTC per month based on experience and qualifications
