Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
As a Maintenance Engineer
, you are responsible for ensuring that machines, installations and technical systems remain reliable, safe and efficient. You combine hands‑on technical knowledge with problem‑solving and preventive maintenance to keep production running smoothly.
You will work in a dynamic technical environment where no two days are exactly the same. One day you may be analysing a recurring machine failure, while the next you are working on a maintenance improvement project or helping implement a new technical solution.
What you'll be doing- Carry out and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance
- Analyse technical failures and identify the root cause
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and/or mechatronic issues
- Develop and improve preventive maintenance plans
- Monitor the condition and performance of machines and installations
- Identify opportunities to improve machine reliability and availability
- Work on continuous improvement and maintenance optimisation projects
- Support modifications and improvements to machines and installations
- Maintain and update technical documentation
- Work with maintenance schedules, spare parts and maintenance planning
- Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Operators and external suppliers
- Ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely and according to applicable procedures
- Contribute to reducing downtime, maintenance costs and recurring failures
- 2-7 years' Experience in a maintenance, production or industrial environment
- Good technical and analytical problem‑solving skills
- Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance
- You are able to analyse technical problems and find practical solutions
- You enjoy working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- You have a hands‑on and proactive approach
- Good command of English;
Afrikaans is a big advantage (as it's a Dutch company)
- 2-year contract (40 hours/week)
- 25 paid holidays per year (+ potential ADV days)
- Holiday allowance: 8.33% of gross annual salary (paid in May)
- Travel allowance: €0.23 per km for commuting
- Full relocation support
