Senior Telecom Field Technician

Our client in Pretoria is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Telecom Field Technician to join their operational team in Gauteng. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites and network facilities. This hands‑on role requires a strong technical aptitude, problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service in the field.

You'll play a vital part in ensuring the reliability and performance of our client's telecom services across the region.

• Install, configure, test, and maintain telecommunications hardware, including routers, switches, fiber optic equipment, and customer premises equipment (CPE).
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues in the field, performing repairs and replacements as needed.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance on network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures during all field operations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end‑users and junior technicians.
• Document all service calls, including issues encountered, actions taken, and resolution, in the ticketing system.

• Trade qualification or relevant certification in Telecommunications or Electronics.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Telecom Field Technician or similar role.
• Proficiency with various testing equipment, including OTDRs, cable testers, and network analyzers.
• Strong knowledge of fiber optic installation and troubleshooting.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential for this role.
