Senior HVAC Technician

Our client, a prominent property management group, is seeking a highly experienced Senior HVAC Technician to manage and maintain the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across their portfolio of commercial properties in Pretoria, Gauteng, ZA . This role is critical for ensuring optimal building performance, tenant comfort, and energy efficiency. The Senior HVAC Technician will lead a small team, provide expert technical guidance, and handle complex repairs and installations.

This is an on-site position requiring your presence at various locations within the Pretoria region.

• Install, maintain, and repair a variety of HVAC systems, including boilers, chillers, air handlers, and refrigeration units.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system operation and longevity.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex HVAC issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Perform system diagnostics, including air and water balancing, and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Oversee and mentor junior HVAC technicians, providing technical expertise and guidance.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with suppliers for necessary equipment and materials.
• Respond promptly to emergency service calls and resolve critical issues efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance data.

• Trade qualification or relevant certification in HVAC or Refrigeration.
• Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience as an HVAC Technician, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing commercial HVAC systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems related to HVAC.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Experience with building management systems (BMS) is advantageous.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
