Job Summary
Our research team is hiring part‑time community‑based research assistants to conduct direct observation data collection for the Building Healthy Families program. This is a part‑time, hourly position that will require training and weekly attendance at program sessions for 5‑10 hours per week, with a combination of daytime and evening hours. Training and weekly meetings with the research team will be virtual and are paid.
The successful candidate will support direct observation data collection and reporting for the Building Healthy Families program being provided by your local community.
The position requires the ability to work effectively as part of a large interdisciplinary team, evening hours starting September 2026, reliable transportation, and completion of the necessary training.
Availability: weekly commitment from September 2026 – January 2027, followed by approximately 1 week per month through September 2027. Day and evening availability required.
Responsibilities- Attend weekly BHF sessions in your local community (in person), typically in the evening.
- Conduct direct observation using standardized tools and protocols.
- Record and submit data accurately and on time.
- Participate in paid virtual training (August 2026) and weekly check‑ins via Zoom typically during the day.
- Communicate effectively with program staff and the research team.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow research ethics and safety protocols.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Experience:
≤ 2 years in health, health education, nursing, or a related field.
Technical
Skills:
Comfortable using MS Office & Zoom; reliable transportation required.
Compliance:
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and may be subject to a background check.
Candidates should have research or practice‑based experience in health, health promotion, or health education, nursing, or any other related field. Experience working with deadlines and following protocols without direct supervision is preferred. Additional skills that would be advantageous for the position include conducting health assessments (height and weight, health history questionnaires), demonstrating good time management, willingness to learn new techniques and procedures, and a strong work ethic.
