Overview
The Student Nutrition Access Center (SNAC) at USU Eastern is seeking a reliable, friendly, and service-minded student to join our team as a part‑time SNAC Assistant. This position plays a vital role in supporting students by helping them access nutritious food and maintaining a welcoming, inclusive space.
Responsibilities- Greet and assist students who visit SNAC
- Answer basic questions about food options and program eligibility
- Ensure food shelves are stocked, organized, and clean
- Track inventory and notify staff when supplies are low
- Uphold a respectful, inclusive, and confidential environment for all students
- Assist with occasional outreach events and SNAC‑related programs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Dependable, self‑motivated, and organized
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Passionate about supporting fellow students and reducing food insecurity
- Prior experience in customer service or food service is a plus, but not required

ADAThis position is located in the Student Nutrition Access Center (SNAC) on the USU Eastern campus. The work environment is supportive, student‑focused, and inclusive, with an emphasis on providing respectful and confidential assistance to peers.
Physical Demands: The role involves light to moderate physical activity, including standing for extended periods, lifting boxes up to 25 lbs, restocking shelves, and organizing food items. Basic mobility and the ability to bend, lift, and carry items are required.
Mental Demands: The SNAC Assistant must be able to interact positively with a diverse student population and handle sensitive situations with discretion and empathy. The role may occasionally involve working independently, managing basic tasks under minimal supervision, and maintaining attention to detail in a busy environment.
