Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is seeking a Liner, Insulation Manager 3 to join our team. This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division at our facility located in Promontory UT.
Role Description and Responsibilities:
Manage a team of material specialists with expertise in material science, chemistry, physics, mechanical and/or chemical engineering to support liner and insulation needs of various programs.
Facilitate research activities directed towards new product development outside of traditional product lines.
Coordinate and monitor employee workload, development, hiring, and maintain overhead budgets.
Conduct individual technical efforts as required to meet budget and schedule constraints.
Provide timely feedback, develop others, coach and mentor.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
Facilitate and coordinate work across organizations.
Basic computer skills and program knowledge (Word, Excel, etc.).
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of a BS in a classical Engineering discipline or closely related field required.
BS degree with 8 years’ experience, or MS degree with 6 years’ experience or 4 years with a Ph.D.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years in energetic product design and/or manufacturing experience.
5 years or greater experience in applying expertise to support materials application for energetic system applications.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory/management/team management/leadership experience.
Strong understanding of PLI and thermal protective systems for energetic and/or solid rocket motor system design.
Experience writing proposals, detailed test plans, and data reports.
Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory/management/team management/leadership experience.
Extensive understanding of PLI and thermal protective systems for energetic and/or solid rocket motor design.
Experience in managing projects or programs using Propulsion Systems tools.
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to pass a background check for the Federal Safe Explosives Act (SEA).

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Salary Range: $161,500 - $242,300
