Job Description

Ford Motor Credit Company (“Ford Credit”), has received regulatory conditional approval to form Ford Credit Bank (the “Bank”) to be headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Bank will create innovative and simplified banking solutions to help customers across the country finance the purchase of new Ford vehicles, parts, accessories, and software and earn competitive rates on FDIC‑insured savings accounts and certificates of deposit.

The Bank will be a direct and wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Credit Company (“Ford Credit”), an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company (“Ford”).

In this position…

We’re seeking a highly qualified Chief of Staff to work closely with our Chief Executive Officer and the Bank Board of Directors. From day one, the chief of staff will have an immediate impact on our productivity, streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing program management, and communicating objectives between departments. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a business management role, with a special focus on executive‑level advising and interdepartmental collaboration.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do…

  • Oversee strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of bank executive leadership and department heads
  • Communicate with bank executives and the Board of Directors in decision‑making, program management, and strategic initiative implementation
  • Build and develop relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness into existing operations, and help to define new operational strategies, working with CEO and executives on the bank’s three‑year strategic plan
  • Coordinate Board meeting materials and presentations and review for completeness, accuracy, and make suggestions for changes to executive leaders and Department Heads as needed
  • Work closely with the Bank CEO and Corporate Secretary setting Board Meeting Agendas and scheduling Board meetings
  • Work closely with the Bank Corporate Secretary to ensure meeting minutes are complete and accurate
  • Direct regulatory relations and oversee exam coordination with the Federal Regulatory Agencies specifically the FDIC, UDFI and State examiners
  • Oversee Bank Headquarters Office regarding regulatory requirements (i.e. insurance coverage, signage, facility security)
  • Serve as the lead and point of contact with banking associations and industry groups. Coordinate relations with the American Bankers Association, Utah Bankers Association and National Association of Industrial Banks
  • Work with the Bank CEO and Ford Government relations on bank specific lobbying initiatives
  • Serve as liaison between staff, bank executives, senior leaders, CEO and Board of Directors, regarding the bank’s culture, and employee well‑being.
  • Travel to main office locations at least 20% of the year
Qualifications

You’ll have…

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years in a business or executive management role
  • Banking industry experience required
  • 10+ years working with Federal Regulatory Agencies specifically the FDIC and Utah Department of Financial Institutions
  • Prior experience working with the American Bankers Association, Utah Bankers Association and National Association of Industrial Banks
  • Proven experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments
  • Excellent communicator in written and verbal form
  • Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity
  • Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives

  • Experience with Board of Directors desired
  • Knowledge of the Community Reinvestment Act and required volunteering in the community including serving on nonprofit Board
  • Experience with budget management
  • Proven success in a project coordination role
  • Nimble business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions
  • Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication
