Reporting directly to the Fabrication Supervisor, we are currently seeking a Metal Fabricator for our Night shift to be based at our Price, Utah facility.

Position SummaryFabricate, lay out, position, align, fit parts and assemble structural metal products such as framework or shells for machinery, and metal parts using a welder, cutting torch, grinder, brake press, etc. Must perform the following duties.
Essential Functions Layout- Review, analyze and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout.
- Understand layout and plan sequence of operations to maximize efficiency of production in terms of time, quality, quantity, resources, and overall costs.
- Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
- Understand various weld form symbols on blueprints and drawings.
- Design and construct templates and fixtures.
- Position, align, fit, and weld together material pieces to AWS specifications.
- Weld using MIG welder and pulse process; weld components in flat, vertical, horizontal or overhead positions.
- Tack up structures to meet tolerances and specifications.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torches, straightening presses, and hand tools.
- Remove high spots and cut bevels, using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches.
- Hammer, chip, and grind work pieces, cut, bend, and straighten metal.
- Operate MIG welder.
- Set up and operate shear and brake press, punch press.
- Use overhead crane, forklift, hoists to assist in fabrication, assembly and moving materials/projects.
- Operate grinders, cutting torch, drills, and miscellaneous hand tools.
- Properly care for and maintain tools in good operating condition and ensure tools and equipment are stored properly at the end of each shift.
- Maintain regular and consistent job attendance, arrive on time.
- Follow and comply with IE Core Values.
- Follow and comply with IE safety program.
- Install electrical components in pre‑cut panels, wire as needed.
- Wash, prime, paint parts for electrical units.
- High School Diploma or GED, plus 2 years welding fabrication experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in MIG welding.
- Knowledge of mandatory welding applications and AWS certifications.
- Must discern correct welding applications.
- Essential “rigging” knowledge.
- Good math skills for transferring print information to the fabrication process.
- Ability to read and interpret shop/engineering drawings.
- Must arrive to work on time and adhere to schedules.
- Maintain positive working relationships.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift/move up to 100 pounds, etc.
- Fabricate and assemble metal buildings, parts and products.
- Operate a wide range of equipment, hand and power tools, overhead crane, forklift, torches, brake shear, etc.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer focus.
- Work as part of a team, take direction from supervisors, adhere to work rules.
- Mentor fellow employees when opportunity arises.
